Somewhere along the way a
lightbulb-headed art director joined the design team

Meet Mr. Intention
Mr. Intention is a 1950s commercial artist and graphic designer with a simple belief: good design begins with knowing what you intend to communicate.
Trained in typography, composition, and commercial art, he developed a philosophy built around clarity, hierarchy, and purpose.
Nothing should be added without a reason.
Nothing should remain without one.
He believes good design is the thoughtful arrangement of ideas. Every element should support the message. A headline should belong to the image. A page should guide the eye. Form and function should work together. And when something doesn't contribute to the intention, it probably doesn't belong.
That philosophy became Thought Systems—a practical approach to thinking built around six modes: Capture, Organize, Connect, Explore, Clarify, and Act.
Today, Mr. Intention is the resident creative mind at Ignition Go Studios, where he continues to think, sketch, question, simplify, and turn ideas into useful things.
His methods are old school.
His thinking isn't.
And the light is still on.

FROM THE STUDIO
Design With Intention
Mr. Intention’s work combines modernist geometry, commercial art, typography, collage, and the imperfect character of mid-century printmaking.
Built around clarity, hierarchy, and purpose, every composition begins with the same question: What are we trying to communicate?
Shapes are reduced. Type becomes part of the image. Color is used deliberately. Halftones, paper textures, and graphic forms bring the warmth of old-school commercial art into a contemporary design system.
It’s a philosophy that runs through everything at Ignition Go Studios—from Thought Systems and books to posters, prints, and the objects still taking shape on the drafting table.
